The Brooklyn Bridge was constructed between 1870 and 1883. It took 13 years to build It cost $15,000,000
The Brooklyn Bridge is a suspension bridge. It was made out of steel, concrete and a variety of other types of rock.
The Brooklyn Bridge was needed to transport people from Brooklyn to Manhattan, the two land masses in New York, New York that it connects. It made travel between the two much easier, people did not have to wait for ferries to take them from one land mass to the other. It impacted the economy because, though it was an expensive project, it helped Brooklyn and Manhattan connect  so more people could work, and boost the economy.
The Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest suspension bridges. The Brooklyn Bridge was the first steel wire suspension bridge ever. It was originally known as the New York and Brooklyn Bridge Robert E. Odlum was the first person to jump off the bridge.
